The other night on the show Delilah spent an hour talking with Rod Stewart about his latest album "It Had To Be You: The Great American Songbook." Delilah had a hard time believing Rod would depart from his image as "Mr. Hot Legs" and do an album of vintage love songs in the jazz style, a CD much more relaxed and lush compared to the image he's maintained while performing over the years- in Delilah's words, the image of "a rock n' roll god." In truth, Rod Stewart said these love song classics are among his personal favorites; in fact, he tried making an album of this sort for many years, but just recently received the backing to finish the project. Stewart mentioned in this interview that he'll be heading back into the studio to record another session of vintage songs soon, with the second American songbook album to possibly be released in October.
