Donna

I'm Donna, and the most recent addition to Delilah's Team. I might be one of the people you'll hear on the request line. What a great place to work! Laughing, caring, real people...all this and I get paid for it too? Amazing....

I was born on St. Paddy's day just a few years back, and it's wonderful to have a holiday birthday. But the downside is; I was 8 years old before I discovered that all the hoopla was not the world celebrating that I was in it. What a shock that was! Left scars, I tell you...

My father was an officer in the Army while I was growing up, so I had the opportunity to live many places and see many cultures. Two of my grandparents came through Ellis Island, and worked hard to come to America. I think that fight to arrive from a place you fought to leave has resulted in my family being intensely patriotic. I can still remember 'me wee Ireesh Grawndmither' crying each time she heard the Star Spangled Banner.

I was a high-end jewelry designer for 25 years when I answered a call to go into radio. Don't let anyone fool you, its hard work, but what fun! That was in 1996, and I've always considered it my hobby. Since then I've been in graphic arts, and I've even returned to school, but radio has always pulled me back. I think I'll quit fighting it and just resign myself to my happy fulfilling hobby, yes?

God has truly blessed me! I'm not sure why, other than He promised He would. I am one of the lucky ones who finally found her soulmate, married him and am living happily ever after in a lovely old beach house a block from an old lighthouse. Between us, Frank and I have 4 children, a black Lab (Cleo) and a Maine Coon cat (Bob-how original). Our first granddaughter (I know...I don't look a day over 25) was born on Grandpa's birthday last year. He's worried he's stuck with 'Barbie' birthday cakes for the rest of his life now, but in retaliation he's looking forward to taking this new pink Being out with her Scooby-Doo fishing pole.

What's it like to work with Delilah Radio? It's all you think it might be. The show is intriguing, the people are fun, sharp and witty, and I'm very proud of my small part in it. Delilah's show gives you a soft place to land in an increasingly sharp and pointy world, and I think that's what we all love about it!
