 Hi, my name is Dee Dee.
I joined Delilah’s fabulous ‘collection of eclectics’ in January 2006 and life hasn’t been the same since! I have several titles here at the studio which include; Webmaster Assistant, Event coordinator & Supreme Call Screener. (Ok, I admit I added the “supreme” part …I don’t think Donna would let me get away with “Best Call Screener EVER”). I love the diversity of people that listen to the Delilah show and enjoy talking to those of you who call in with dedications, song requests, and amazing stories. One of my favorite web activities is building the Monthly Newsletter; those who visit Delilah’s website and sign up to be a ‘loyal listener’ receive this exclusive newsletter filled with fun stories, calls from listeners, guest star appearances and all kinds of seasonal ideas from Delilah!
Delilah and I grew up in the same small town on the Oregon Coast. Living next to the most perfect beaches in the Pacific Northwest, we had the best playground imaginable! In junior high I became friends with Delilah’s friend Natasha… this did not however, go over well with Delilah. You see Tash was HER friend first and besides… Delilah hadn’t been consulted. (You may not know this but she likes to be included in most everything…a trait formally known as Nosey.) Eventually the three of us became the best of ‘Grit’ friends and 35 years later, we still are!
I love to laugh; in fact, Humor is the very essence of who I am. Puns and good old Irony are my favorites; life can give you all that and then some, just look around… there is an endless supply of funny to be found!  My family’s support in this new adventure means so much to me. Steve, my husband of 27 years, and our 18 year-old son Ryan have been troopers with all the changes that have occurred in the past 2 ½ years! We sold our house, packed our stuff into a storage POD, strapped the dog into the car, waved goodbye to our dearest friends and everything that was familiar… and looked to a new future. We were living in a small two bedroom, one bath Condo (I repeat… ONE bathroom) while our house was being built but, thankfully, the long wait is over and we’ve moved into our new home on 5 acres … complete with 2 bathrooms!  Our golden lab Baylee, (aka “Boo Boo”), loves the freedom she now has to run around and enjoy her favorite past time; chasing after the occasional pesky squirrel that dares to invade her territory… or her trees…or the grass near her territory. Boo loves Frisbee, good will stuffed toys and all things starchy!
Bobby Kat, the newest addition to our family, is a big Russian blue that loves to walk in front of you and meow loudly but his favorite thing is to lay on the back of my chair… well, maybe drape is a better word. Yep, stress has no place in Bob’s life; just keep the food bowl full and watch your step!  Here at the Delilah Studio my co-workers (a.k.a., ‘collection of eclectics’) and I have a lot of fun and there’s always laughter and lots of food. Sometimes, when I make lunch for everyone, I get in trouble with some of the crew who don’t think meatloaf and smashed potatoes are an acceptable “Diet” meal but the rest of the gang just smiles and goes back for seconds.
In a way that’s what Delilah’s show is all about: giving her listeners a comfortable place to relax, unwind, laugh and come back for second helpings.
