Our friend and listener Nina reveals another 'Angel of the Night' – BUDZO!
Dear Delilah,
I listen to your radio show at night on my way home from work. It inspired me to tell you my story of inspiration. On the morning of September 21st, 2005 I had a close call with death. I was in an accident with a semi-truck. When the paramedics got there they were sure the person in that car would not live to tell about it. With the onlookers of my family and many people driving by, everybody had their fingers crossed and hoped for the best.
One gentleman stood by the car with the truck driver until help arrived. Keeping me calm was their top priority. Looking up and seeing nothing but the dirt off of the bottom of a semi-truck, knowing you can't go anywhere, is enough to get you into a stage of panic. All I could hear was sirens once the paramedics arrived. One paramedic, who is known as "Budzo”, came under that truck to check on me. All I asked of him was not to leave my side. He stayed by my side for the complete 1 hour and 20 minutes it took them to free me from the car.
With God by my side, and the lifesaving hand of "Budzo", I am still walking today to tell about it. Budzo went way beyond the call of duty and for this I owe him my gratitude! I just wanted to thank all of the firefighters who helped me out of the car.
